The True Gospel

I thought the following words were tremendous and I wish they were emblazoned on the heart of every Christian. I pray they will bless you and you will share them with others.

"Biblical sexual standards go to the heart of the gospel. The gospel is costly grace, not cheap grace. In his book, "The Cost of Discipleship," Lutheran Pastor Dietrick Bonhoeffer, explains, 'Cheap grace means the justification of sin without the justification of the sinner. Grace alone does everything, they say, and so everything can remain as it was before ... Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline...'

Contrasting cheap grace with costly grace, Bonhoeffer writes, 'Costly grace is the treasure hidden in the field; for the sake of it a man will gladly go and sell all that he has .... It is costly because it costs a man his life, and it is grace because it gives a man the only true life. It is costly because it condemns sin, and grace because it justifies the sinner. Above all, it is costly because it cost God the life of His son ... And what has cost God so much cannot be cheap for us ....' "

Very good!

Interesting how those who actively seek God's presence write meditations that bring us there with them.
